- About
The Personal Development Fund will provide funding to support children from Floreat Montague Park Primary School to participate in personal development activities that may, for a variety of reasons, be beyond their financial reach.
At Floreat Montague Park 49 pupils (11%) are recognised to be disadvantaged financially. Many others may find the costs of a residential trip or educational visit prohibitive, especially if they have siblings in school and are asked to fund multiple trips and visits.
At Floreat Montague Park, we have developed a residential visits programme to support our commitment to outdoor learning and personal development. The English Outdoor Council has recognised the benefits of outdoor learning, highlighting ten key outcomes of high-quality outdoor learning in their booklet High Quality Outdoor Learning. These outcomes are shown below:
High Quality Outdoor Learning outcomes:
Enjoyment
Confidence and character
Health and well-being
Social and emotional awareness
Environmental awareness
Activity skills
Personal qualities
Skills for life
Increased motivation and appetite for learning
Broadened horizons
A key part of our curriculum, the residential programme is for all children from Reception to Year 6. Visits are carefully planned to ensure that there is progression between each year group. Each residential visit also has meaningful links to the year group's curriculum studies.
