The GLF Schools’ Foundation is an exciting new initiative within GLF Schools which will provide opportunities for all young people within our schools to have exposure to opportunities and experiences regardless of their financial background. The Foundation aims to minimise the socio-economic barriers that exist preventing young children from exploring, experiencing, and enjoying a variety of beneficially healthy activities. Within our schools we have approximately 3,000 students - 19% of our total students - who are recognised as disadvantaged. These are the students to whom we are initially focusing support in accessing a breadth of opportunities to help them exceed in life.
Within GLF Schools there are currently:
16,783 students
3,247 classified as Disadvantaged - 19% of our total
2,815 receiving Free School Meals
297 in the Social Care System
Access to experiences can be expensive, a cost some families do not have the luxury of accommodating in their finances.
Your donation will allow us to:
- Subsidise students from low socio-economic backgrounds to enable them to access opportunities and experiences outside of school.
- Identify talented students and mentor those students using our Ambassadors.
- Deliver face to face inspirational sessions to students.
- Provide specialised teaching to all schools within GLF by linking with local clubs, companies, and businesses.
- Provide CPD opportunities for staff to be able to confidently deliver extra-curricular lessons.
All donations will be used solely for the purpose of providing opportunities to children within GLF Schools.
If each family within the GLF community donated £1 a month, we would raise £16,783 a month, £201,396 a year. Imagine the number of children and young people whose lives we can make a difference to across our 41 schools.
Your support will make a huge difference. Donations of any amount are gratefully received and can be set up weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually.
